We hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration, wherever the day found you! Our Thanksgiving Thursday was “normal” in that we still had school and ministry activities, but we took time to celebrate together with friends over the weekend. We hope that you, like us, have found meaningful ways to cultivate gratefulness for what God has given you. We also pray we may all find contentment in a culture that constantly tells us that having more “stuff” makes us happy.
Today on Giving Tuesday, we invite you to think with us about the importance of “giving back.” Giving Tuesday is a perfect time to make a year-end contribution, or to make a commitment to support God’s work around the world in an ongoing way. We’d like to suggest a few ways you could do that:
Give to the CBF Offering for Global Missions – The OGM supports our work and the work of aver 100 field personnel doing God’s work all over the world. Your gifts to the OGM make a difference! Follow this link to make a gift to the Offering for Global Missions.
Make an Ongoing Commitment – We’re still about $275 a month short of our budget goal for this year. Is God calling you to be an ongoing part of the work here? Follow this link to make an ongoing gift to God’s work among Roma in Slovakia (remember to check the “Recurring Gift” box, or leave it empty to make a one-time contribution).
Support Roma Education – We’ve recently established a new project for supporting education among Roma in Slovakia. This will support ministry in schools and other educational programs among Roma. Follow this link to give to that project directly.
However you decide to give back this year, we are thankful for your partnership and your prayers. We pray for you, too, and are confident that God will help you find – AND share – hope, peace, love and joy this Advent and Christmas.
Blessings to you,
Jon and Tanya, Abigail and Kaitlyn
